The Poisoner by I.V. Ophelia is a dark gothic romance set in Victorian London. It follows the story of Alina Lis a botanist and poisoner. The book contains sexual and violent content. Despite my aversion for first person perspective, I enjoyed reading the book. I found the characters' backgrounds interesting, although it was only slightly brushed upon. The ending was predictable, but I still enjoyed seeing the characters' reach the conclusion.
